Frequently asked questions

The frequently asked questions below all relate to our wall stickers. 

Do your wall stickers stick to any surface?

Our wall stickers can be stuck to any clean, dry and completely smooth surfaces. Please avoid any walls with texture.

Our wall stickers will stick best to walls painted with normal matt emulsion. Some glossy / silk paints, wipeable, washable paints or or ‘special effect’ paints (e.g. light reflecting paints) can be more difficult to apply. If you are planning to stick to any of these surfaces, we recommend applying an adhesive spray/spray tac, although please note it may make it difficult to remove the sticker.

Our stickers can be applied on top of wallpaper, but the stickers may not be removable.

Are they easy to apply?

Our stickers are super easy to apply, you just peel and stick them on the wall. There are a few things to note:

1. Large stickers should be applied with two people to prevent it folding and getting stuck to itself
2. Stickers apply best when at room temperature, so when they have arrived please allow to sit for a couple of hours in a warm room
3. Natural heat from your hand and rubbing down firmly with a soft cloth will aid application, so rub down firmly when applying

What are your stickers made from?

Our core collection of wall stickers are made from a high quality vinyl, with a non-reflective matt finish.

We also have a premium fabric range, made from 100% polyester.

Are your wall stickers safe for babies and children?

We use GREENGUARD Gold UL 2818 certified inks. This certification ensures that our inks meet some of the world's most rigorous standards for low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into indoor air, making them ideal for sensitive environments like nurseries, bedrooms, and playrooms .

Why are some stickers only available in vinyl, or just fabric? Whereas some have a choice?

We carefully choose the material for each design based on what will look best on your wall.

For many of our stickers, our premium vinyl gives a beautiful, clean finish while keeping them more affordable - without compromising on how they look in your nursery.

For more detailed designs, softer illustrations, or some of our bestsellers, we offer (or default to) our fabric material. This has a more painted, mural-like finish and is completely PVC-free, giving an even softer, more elevated look.

Can you make your stickers to a specific design size?

If you’d like your stickers to be a different size to the options shown on our website (or if you’d like to adjust colours, or even add a personalised element) then please get in touch by emailing hello@nurserystickers.co with "personalisation" in the subject, we can create almost anything.

Can you make a vinyl sticker in fabric on request?

Yes we can. Just email hello@nurserystickers.co with "personalisation" in the subject. There is an approx £10-15 additional charge for a fabric upgrade.

How long does delivery take?

All in stock products will arrive within 3 working days. If there is a pre-order note on the product page, please refer to product description for specifics.

Are your stickers waterproof?

Our wall stickers are splash proof.

Are your wall stickers removable?

Our wall stickers are removable from regular painted walls, leaving no residue whatsoever. There are however some factors that can affect removability (e.g. the existing quality of the paint on the wall) and therefore we recommend that if you are concerned about clean removability, you test a small sample on the application area prior to applying your full design to ensure removability. Read more: do wall decals damage walls?

Can I apply my stickers near heat sources?

We do not recommend you apply your stickers near any sources of heat e.g. above a radiator. 

Can I apply your wall stickers to a newly painted room?

We recommend you leave at least a couple of months prior to applying our wall stickers to a freshly painted wall.
